Reiki is a powerful healing practice, but it’s important to prioritize self-practice over treating others. In this blog I’m making the recommendation to avoid doing Reiki on others because Reiki was not made for that – it’s a more advanced practice than “hands on healing”. While offering Reiki to others can be tempting, the true path to enlightenment lies in dedicating oneself to personal growth and transformation through self-practice.
By focusing on your own Reiki practice, you deepen your connection to the universal life force energy and cultivate inner peace, balance, and spiritual awareness. This self-work is the foundation for true healing and awakening, as it allows you to clear blockages, raise your vibration, and embody the principles of Reiki.
In contrast, offering Reiki on others without a strong personal practice can be draining and lead to an imbalance. You may find yourself depleted or even taking on the energetic burdens of those you treat. Beginners often don’t recognise this energetic exchange and later on find out that health problems have snuck up on them. Hence, it’s crucial to first build a solid Reiki foundation within yourself before attempting to heal or guide others.
Unfortunately, many people have only learned the watered-down version of Reiki on others that was based on lies Mrs. Takata told the West in order to convince their minds that it was a practice worthwhile. For those of you who are unaware of this, Reiki does not stem from Christianity, it originates from Buddhism and a deep practice of self improvement that leads to Satori (enlightenment).
Reiki is Way More Advanced than just doing “Reiki on others”
The practice is deeper than our minds can fathom because it works with the infinite universal energies – and hence, we can not “box it in” to a small category of “hands on healing” of Reiki on others.
Reiki is a profound spiritual development path that has its roots in the ancient teachings of Buddhism. At the heart of Buddhist practices lies the pursuit of Satori or Nibbana, which represents the ultimate state of enlightenment. Through its gentle yet powerful techniques, Reiki guides us on a transformative journey that goes far beyond the common perceptions. By aligning our energy and cultivating deeper self-awareness, Reiki empowers us to unlock our true potential and achieve a level of spiritual awakening that transcends the ordinary. This timeless practice, born from the wisdom of Buddhism, offers us a direct path to self-discovery and the realization of our highest and most authentic selves.
Ultimately, the most profound and lasting transformation comes from within. By committing to self-practice, you’ll experience the profound benefits of Reiki and be better equipped to share its gifts with the world from a place of wholeness and wisdom. Avoid the pitfalls of doing Reiki on others, and instead, focus on your own enlightenment through dedicated self-practice.
Keep in mind that this was written from my own personal experiences as I personally explored and learned from the Reiki energies themselves which led me to realise this amazing fact and the benefits that can occur when we go deeper into the true practice of Reiki and the path to enlightenment. However, if this information is not right for you – please just ignore this blog.
