Grounding techniques have been really helpful to me, especially when things get chaotic and crazy. I’m sure many of you know about visualizing roots growing from your feet, but have you ever tried growing them from your hips? It has an even stronger grounding effect.

Also, don’t just think about the roots, try to actually FEEL them. This makes a big difference in how effective it is overall. Picture your roots extending down into the earth, reaching through the different layers of soil, and connecting with the roots of other trees. When you FEEL like a solid tree you’ll notice yourself feeling more at ease.

2. Create a personal sanctuary: Another coping strategy for empaths is to designate a peaceful space in your home where you can retreat and recharge after a long day in the city. Fill it with calming elements such as soft lighting, soothing music, and comforting scents to create an oasis of tranquility.

If you were to see my room, you would notice that it is filled with as much purple as possible. I have purple bed sheets, pillow cases, wall hangings, and even a purple Ganesha statue! Purple has a calming effect on me, so I use it to create a peaceful environment that suits me perfectly. Did you notice the colour of my website?  3. Set boundaries: I can’t stress this one enough, but it’s super important to set boundaries as an empath! We are highly sensitive to the feelings and emotions of others and hence setting boundaries is an important self-care tip for empaths, eh. I full believe that ALL EMPATHS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME GREAT HEALERS BECAUSE THEY FEEL ENERGIES, but while this can be an advantage, it’s important first to establish boundaries to protect your own energy – and then learn more advanced techniques to thrive.
